Most people make the same mistake. They set a bug zapper right next to the table, which lures flying insects straight toward them. Ember Max does the opposite. Honest answers

Does it really pull bugs away instead of toward me?
That's the whole idea. The UV light is the lure, so wherever you place the unit is where flying insects head. Stake it at the far edge of your yard and it draws them there, away from your seating area, instead of to your table.
How much does one really cover?
One unit reaches up to 1,200 m², enough for most yards, pool areas and gardens. Bigger or L-shaped plots do better with two (one front, one back), which is why we offer a 2-pack.
Does it work on cloudy days or at night?
Yes. It's dual-charging: the rotating solar panel tops it up in daylight, and there's a plug-in backup for cloudy stretches. It switches itself on automatically at night, which is when it does its work.
Is it safe around kids and pets?
It uses no sprays or chemicals, just UV light and an electric grid, and the grid is housed inside the unit. As with any electric zapper, stake it at the yard's edge away from little hands, and don't poke objects into the grille. Placing it at the perimeter (not the patio) keeps it well clear of where kids and pets play.
Can it stay out in the rain?
Yes. It's IPX5 water-resistant, so rain and a hose-rinse are fine. It's built to live outside through the season, and you can bring it indoors over winter like any outdoor electronics.
